Lu Mei, born in Shanghai in 1969, currently lives in Guangzhou. She began painting as a child. With over thirty years of experience spanning painting, fashion, and design, and after extensive work in multinationals (including Fortune 500 companies) as well as entrepreneurial ventures, Lu Mei has developed a unique perspective on art, fashion, and life. She is currently a PhD candidate in Art Management at the Michelangelo Academy of Fine Arts in Italy. She earned her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts (GAFA), the most prestigious art academy in southern China. Her works have been selected and exhibited several times in international exhibitions, winning numerous awards. She held the traveling solo exhibition "Oriental Woman" in several Italian cities, including Rome, Florence, Perugia, and Assisi. Her works have also been included in national exhibitions in China and are now part of numerous private collections. She has published best-selling books, including "Qipao – Painting and Fashion" and "Little Stories in the Closet." The national newspaper China Daily featured two articles on her: one on her book "A Dress in History" and the other on her artistic output. New Weekly magazine also featured her extensively, calling her "the painter who best understands women."
